| The AE2 Commemorative Foundation Ltd (AE2CF) was founded by the Submarine Institute of Australia (SIA) in 2006. The aim of the Foundation is to preserve and protect the wreck of HMAS AE2 in the Sea of Marmara and to promote its historical significance, both to the Royal Australian Navy (RAN) and World War I, throughout the wider community. |

Governance
In order to achieve its vision, mission and strategic objectives, the AE2CF has a Board of Directors and office bearers who are committed to the good governance of the Foundation. More detailed information about these is included in Governance.
Activities
The AE2CF has to date achieved its vision, mission and strategic objectives through undertaking a range of activities involving Australian and Turkish historians, divers, marine archaeologists, scientists, documentary makers and administrators.
