Rear Admiral Peter Briggs AO, CSC, RAN retired
Peter Briggs commanded two submarines, including HMAS Oxley, the first Oberon class submarine to undergo the Submarine Weapons Update Program. As the Director of the Submarine Warfare Systems Centre, he oversaw a major upgrade to the Oberon combat system, including the introduction of the Mark 48 Mod 4 torpedo and Harpoon missile. During this period SWSC developed the initial Required Ship Characteristics, Combat System and ISCMMS operator specifications for Collins. In an 11–year span as a Flag Officer, he oversaw the development of HMAS Stirling, introduced new technician training and programs associated with the induction of Collins, Anzac, Minehunter and Sea Hawk capabilities into the Fleet. His service in Defence Headquarters included a tour as the Head of Strategic Command Division and the Submarine Capability Team established to lead to the Collins recovery program.
John B Gough AO, OBE, LLD Hons
John Gough is a former Chairman of the ANZ Banking Group, and a former Chief Executive and Chairman of Pacific Dunlop Limited and Chairman of the Melbourne Business School. He was a former Director of Amcor Ltd, BHP Ltd, CSR Ltd and ICI Ltd. He is former President of Trustees at the National Gallery of Victoria and Vice-President of the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research. He is a former Member of the General Motors Australian Advisory Council and a former Board Member of the Menzies Research Centre. He is currently a Governor of the Ian Potter Foundation and of the Australia-Israel Chamber of Commerce and a Board member of the Australian Landscape Trust. He is also a Chairman of the Dookie College Farms Research and Development Fund. Mr Gough was heavily involved in international trade and led three trade missions to each of India, Malaysia and Israel.
Trevor Lloyd
Trevor Lloyd leads the TressCox Lawyers commercial advisory group in Melbourne. He is a general commercial lawyer, focusing on advice to a range of industries, including the engineering and defence industries, emerging technology–based business and government business. He also advises in relation to private sector dealings with government. Trevor has worked in corporations both as a lawyer and as a senior executive. He has been seconded within government on a number of occasions for project purposes, including in roles as a regulator. He has broad experience as a director, particularly in engineering and technology, financial services and insurance businesses. Trevor advises in relation to regulatory issues, including the response of commercial organisations to regulatory investigations. Trevor’s experience includes advising on the establishment and maintenance of intellectual property licensing arrangements for businesses dealing between Australia and various other countries. His project work has included involvement in the Very Fast Train, the Docklands Stadium, redevelopment of the Melbourne Cricket Ground and numerous defence projects such as the Multi-Role Helicopters, the Armed Reconnaissance Helicopters, the Lead–In Fighters, the Coastal Minehunter ships and the ANZAC ships. Trevor also advises in relation to construction law issues.
Commodore Terence Roach AM, RAN retired
Terence commanded two RAN O Class submarines, and helped to develop the operational concepts which led to the selection of Mk 48 torpedo and the Harpoon Missile in the Submarine Weapons Update Program [SWUP] for the O Class. As the inaugural Director he established the Submarine Warfare Systems Centre which oversaw the introduction into service of these weapons. He was heavily involved in the selection and management of the decision process for the COLLINS Class submarines and the ANZAC frigates and was the inaugural DG for four years in what is now Maritime Capability Development. After a final tour as the NA Washington, upon retirement he conducted a number of studies for the Department on SM Commanding Officer’s training and on submarine export and construction issues. He continues to consult to Defence Industry.
Paul Wetherill
Paul established Paul Wetherill & Associates in 1985 with the ideal of providing quality financial advice to small business and individuals. Paul has had over 7–years experience working for the international Chartered Accounting firms of Price Waterhouse and Deloitte Haskins & Sells where he specialised in helping small business become more profitable. Paul is a Chartered Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Business Degree. In addition he is a Registered Tax Agent as well as being a Fellow of the Taxation Institute of Australia and a member of the Taxpayer's Association. Paul also holds an Unrestricted Securities Dealers Licence for investment advice as well as being a Certified Trainer.

Ken Greig
From 1971 until 1995 Ken served in the Royal Australian Navy (RAN). He was Engineer Officer of the Oberon Class submarines Onslow and Ovens before ‘surfacing’ in the landing ship HMAS Tobruk, then the replenishment ship HMAS Success. Ken was awarded the Australia Day Medallion 1988 together with a Maritime Commander’s Commendation, for leadership during the Gulf War. He was Project Manager of the Collins Class Submarine Project then policy director for Submarine Engineering matters before retiring in 1995. Since 1995, Ken has pursued a career in Australian defence industry both as an employee and as a consultant. During the period 1996-99 he lived and worked in the Indonesian Province of Irian Jaya. He was chief engineer of the logistics company supporting the Freeport copper and gold mine. Ken was appointed Company Secretary of the AE2 Commemorative Foundation Ltd (AE2CF) in 2007. Ken is a past Hon Sec of the Canberra branch of the Institute of Marine Engineering Science and Technology and is currently a committee member of the Victorian branch. He has an abiding interest in all things that go on or under the sea. As a ‘Legatee’ he’s part of the organisation which provides welfare support to widows, children and disabled dependants of Australia’s deceased veterans.
